Portraits

Portraits appeal to me because they capture a moment in a person’s life, and offer the viewer a glimpse into that person’s true self.  To me, the success of a portrait stems from the subject’s willingness to be vulnerable, and the artist’s willingness as well.  It is a very intimate relationship between artist and subject, and a responsibility as well.  One of the comments that has meant the most to me was that there is a tenderness in my portraits.  I hope very much that this is true.

While I have taken a hiatus from doing portraits, I am always open to commissions.  Lately I have found myself longing to get back to portraiture, and intend to begin a new series in the next few months.  Please check back as they will appear here as they are completed!
