Series One
This series explores the relevance of the book in our lives. Are books anachronistic, or are they merely changing form? What, exactly, constitutes a “book”? Each piece consists of a drawing, and a corresponding artist book that connects in an integral way with the subject of the portrait. For my artist books, I have worked primarily with washi (Japanese paper) because using such an ancient, traditional form of paper in new ways, mirrors for me the manner in which traditional ways of telling stories and sharing information are changing and morphing into something new.
